Group Discipleship

Discipleship groups are spaces where we can put into practice in “circles” – in community and relationship – what we’ve learned in “rows” on Sunday mornings. WMB disciples –  young and old, men and women, new to faith and long-time believers – are experiencing transformation as they seek Jesus together in consistent community.

youth and young adults participated in generational discipleship groups

86 youth

28 young adults

350

30 new participants joined Home Groups this year

Being part of a home group has helped me dive deeper into scripture and walk through life together with other believers. We are great support for each other and help to hold each other accountable in our relationship with God.

As a mom with small children, Tuesday Morning Break provides me with a welcome break in my week where I can focus on my relationship with God while my children are well cared for by someone else. I receive prayer and support from a wonderful group of women and learn from some amazing teachers, both from within our congregation and well-known ones from around the world. I leave feeling refreshed and spiritually full.

Embracing Diversity

Our Senior Leadership Team and Leadership Board have discerned a call to see our faith community at WMB better reflect the diversity of the community in which we live and that of the Kingdom of God. In obedience to this call, we are intentionally creating environments where diversity is pursued and people, regardless of gender, ethnicity, ability and socio-economic strata, are participating in the Body of Christ at WMB.

The number of people accessing Spanish and Farsi message translation on Sunday mornings tripled within the year.

About 1 in 10 of our regular Sunday service attenders speaks Spanish as a first language.

When I was in this atmosphere of the church I felt God’s word and good news of the Bible with the Farsi translation.

Finally we feel safe and are surrounded with people who love God in this church. Every Sunday, I come to feel His presence and I feel the need to listen to His word.

50th Anniversary Celebration

The weekend of October 14-15, we celebrated 50 years since our beginning as a small church plant of Kitchener MB Church in 1967. The festivities gathered WMBers past and present, former pastors and even original founders to celebrate 50 years of vision, mission and faith. God was glorified and His faithfulness celebrated as we shared stories, worshipped, reconciled past hurts and broke bread together.
